Dateline Monday 9th October 2023
Happy Monday OMG second week of October and we have had amazing weather so far this month, I hope all is well with you and yours.
Talking of weather, the weather I will be experiencing this week from Thursday and all of next week is going to be awesome I will be in Abu Dhabi on a site inspection with Jyoti, Christina, Candy and the team at TRAVCO DMC Dubai Abu Dhabi and Oman the forecast is for sun, sun and more sun average temperature will be 35 degrees C that will do very nicely even though I will be working.
The Conservative Bun Fight is done for another year and our PM has decided on the future or not as the case is now of HS2. Regardless of whether it was a good decision, a decision has been made. If he does keep to his promise that the £36 Billion pounds will be spent of more urgent things then that will do a lot of good as I understand it HS2 was going to clip 30 minutes off the journey time from Manchester to London, I get it we all want to get places quicker Concord did that to New York, Concord was taken out of service, it now takes circa 8 hours instead of three and a half hour and a huge bucket of cash to New York, Concord got there quicker however life continues albeit a bit slower.
I am however certain that in 1860 when parliament approved plans to build an underground system there was uproar and budget overspend look at us now where would we be without a tube system the East West Cross Route aka The Elizabeth Line was very expensive now it’s as busy as hell.
The above was written during the week this bit was written on Sunday. Regular readers of my Monday blog will know that my elder brother Allan lives in Jerusalem with his wife Roberta, they have three grown up children, who all have young families, their three children between them have 10 children under the age of 14 years old, all live in Israel and thank God all are safe and well, there are many, many families who are not so lucky. My heart breaks when I see, the agony, pain and desperation these families are going through courtesy of the BBC, social media and other news outlets, parents being interviewed not knowing where their loved ones are having been kidnapped and taken to Gaza, other sadly know where their loved ones are, some are in the morgue. I saw an interview of a father who saw news footage of his young teenage daughter being taken to Gaza on the back of a motorbike driven by blood thirsty savages, he was broken. All he could say was as her father he was supposed to protect her, and he had failed. As a parent of two daughters around the same age as his kidnapped daughter my heart simply broke.
Neither side is blameless, however a war is supposed to be military personnel against military personnel not armed terrorists against young and not so young innocent civilians going about their daily lives attending a music festival, driving their car, waiting for a bus all were mindlessly murdered gunned down their lives cut short .
That’s it you are up to date from a very sad David point of view.
