Dateline Monday 24th June

David J Marks

Good morning, Happy SUNNY Monday, I hope you are well, is it sunny where you are? it is in London W10 the location of the MM and Company offices. How was your weekend? Sunday I finally planted out my tomato plants I only hope it is not too late they were well advanced in the side room, green house type lean too I have at the Marks Mansion in London NW6.

The weather people tell us that it is going to be hot, well that’s their description, I will only admit to it being warm, hot for me is 30 degrees C and above, any temperature below 30 is warm in my book by about 6PM it is hoodie time.  The Stonehenge Summer Solstice was celebrated last week thus summer officially started last Thursday just in time for the decent weather,

It’s soap box time

Today is the 262nd day of the war in Gaza and the 262nd day that Israeli babies, toddles, children, teens, women, men and seniors have been held hostage in the Hamas terror tunnels in Gaza. Netanyahu has not had much success bringing the hostages home since the 100 hostages were set free earlier this year. Seems like talk of a ceasefire has ceased. It is clear that Hezbollah is escalating tins on the northern border that Israel has with Lebanon, clearly the savage barbaric numb sculls Hezbollah fighters do not have TVs and have not seen the news reels of what is going on in Gaza. If they do kick off full time Lebanon will be turned into rubble, I am certain that is NOT what the peaceful citizens of Lebanon want to happen.

Off the soap box now

The Euros are well and truly up and running, I am staying out of it far too may destination where we at MM and Company represent DMCs are playing football against each other, I am not taking side although I would like to see Scotland and England go through to the knock out stages of the competition, sadly that was not to be Scotland was knocked out in the 100th minute by a goal from the Hungarian team and that describes why I am staying well out of it as we represent COSMOS DMC Budapest so whist Scotland is out (sad face ☹)  Hungary is in (happy face 😊)

The summer social circuit is also up and running so far we have had the Chelsea Flower Show and Ascot Races, this week is the start of Wimbledon next week is the Henley Royal Regatta, of course the Cricket season is well established by now.

What are the Tories up to apart from shooting themselves in the foot on a daily basis, now it the gambling scandal I do feel sorry for Rishi Sunak, Sir Kier must be loving all of this, talk about an open goal.

OMG a parent’s worst nightmare, Jay Slater a 19 year old lad went on holiday to Tenerife then went missing after a night out. Jay was last heard from on Monday morning after phoning friend Lucy saying he planned to walk back to his accommodation after missing a bus, a journey expected to take around 11 hours on foot. He pinged her his location, showing him in 'the middle of the mountains'. And that was the last anyone heard from him. A missing teenager is a real concern worse still the stuff on the internet (tik tok)  about this young man and his recent challenges with the authorities if of course one can believe anything these days is quite interesting.

That dear reader that is about it from a David point of view for this week at least.
