Dateline Monday 20th November 2023

Happy Monday I hope all is well with you and yours, how was your weekend? have you started shopping in preparation for the winter holiday beginning with C that I will not mention until my Monday morning e mail on Monday 4th December.

The leafy streets of London W10 are looking very leafy indeed because of the stormy winds that visited the streets last week, not many leaves left on the trees most of them are strewn over the streets of the UK making the place look very untidy indeed.

Week six of the war that Hamas, on behalf of the innocent citizens of Gaza declared against Israel by massacring 1,200 unarmed civilian and taking 240 pensioners, men, women, children and babies hostage. The families of the hostages are undergoing extreme psychological trauma, several times there has been rumours that some possibly up to 50 hostages are going to be released only for the relatives and I should add the hostages to be severely disappointed. Yes, I also know that the citizens of Gaza, the innocent citizens are being traumatized by having yet again to move to an area where there is no fighting between the Israel Defence Force and the barbaric savages of Hamas. Where is the Red Cross in all of this? I haven’t heard anything from the Red Cross or Crecent for that matter.

Congratulations to Australia for winning the Cricket World Cup and congratulations yet again to Max Verstappen this time for winning the Las Vegas Grand Prix which was a road race around the Las Vegas strip.

Finally as I am sure you already know it is Thanksgiving on Thursday 23rd November, I always google special days to see how the celebration came into being. Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated on various dates in the United States, Canada, Grenada, Saint Lucia, Liberia, and unofficially in countries like Brazil and the Philippines. It began as a day of giving thanks for the blessings of the harvest and of the preceding year (similarly named harvest festival holidays occur throughout the world during autumn, including in Germany and Japan). Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States and around the same part of the year in other places. Although Thanksgiving has historical roots in religious and cultural traditions, it has long been celebrated as a secular holiday as well.

Now that we know all about this wonderful holiday may I take this opportunity to wish all my awesome DMC friends and partners in this amazing conference and incentive industry who are based across The Pond in the USA a very happy Thanksgiving.

And that’s it from a David point of view.

MM and Company news update

Malta

Erika, Helga, Claudia and Douglas the team at MI Malta DMC have told us here in London that things are being geared up for the La Valette Marathon on 24th March 2024, this marathon takes full advantage of the awesome scenery of the stunning coastline of Malta, runners will have the beautiful Mediterranean Sea on their left as they follow an entirely coastal route. Malta with its 8,000 years of history is like an open-air museum past mediaeval fortifications, and well-known landmarks. Malta is the perfect place for a marathon in March, great weather with blue skies and sunshine but not too hot about 65℉.

Greece

Nassos and the team at AME DMC have told us that the One&Only Aesthesis in the neighbourhood of Glyfada is open the hotel is set within a 52-acre beach and forest reserve. Overlooking the Aegean Sea, the resort offers guests rooms, bungalows, suites, residences, and villas. According to Nassos the Villas are awesome as well as huge, with extensive and exclusive outdoor pool and entertainment areas it’s a case of if you have to ask the price you can’t afford it type scenario. The hotel itself has beachfront dining with Peruvian-inspired cuisine. The Ora serves Mediterranean cuisine. Minima serves all-day drinks and light bites poolside
