DATELINE MONDAY 1ST AUGUST 2022

Happy Monday, White Rabbits and all that stuff

Good morning from the occasionally sunny but mostly so far dull, dry overcast streets of London W10 I hope all is well. I hope you had a great weekend my weekend was interesting to say the least. On Sunday morning I was driving when the phone rang, caller ID showed it was from my 96 year old Mum’s carer, that immediately bought thoughts of “this can’t be good news”, the carer called to say the Police are on their way to the house, Mum and the carer had disturbed a burglar in my Mum’s bedroom. Phew is that all I thought😊 So I drove over to Mum’s my sister Nicole who lives close by was there when I arrived she had everything under control, the Police were there taking statements and tea. I was superfluous to requirements just reassured Mum that we the Marks Clan were there backing her up.

Mum was shaken and stirred, shaken to have seen the burglar in her bedroom stirred to go onto the internet searching for a second hand AK47, Mum is very thrifty.

Many congratulations to The Lionesses they played magnificently throughout the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 tournament and that is a masterclass in how to win, play magnificently and consistently well, success will follow and it sure did.

Not only did they win by beating Germany 2-1 without going to penalties they also managed to kick The Prime Minister contest the weather the lack of rain and Ukraine off the front pages of the newspapers and the headlines on the BBC News at Ten for that they deserve our thanks.

Sad news that Nichelle Nichols, AKA (also known as) Lieutenant Nyota Uhura of the USS Enterprise in Star Trek, has passed away Star Trek as compulsory viewing as we grew up.

And as we start August the news gets even thinner on the ground as the holiday season kicks off.

That’s it, you are up to date from a David point of view .
