Happy bright and sunny Monday morning greetings from London W10 I hope you are well and that you enjoyed a lovely sunny weekend, well it was sunny here in London.

IMEX Las Vegas starts on Tuesday, and I am here in London, not happy about being unable to go to Las Vegas this year for a number of reasons primarily going to Vegas is always great fun and yes still exciting regardless of the many times I have been there, plus of course I will miss meeting and spending time with the awesome DMCs MM and Company represent and recommends plus and this is a big miss I will miss seeing the UK clients that go to IMEX each year but hey hoo, it is what it is, and what it is, (if you get where I am going with this) is there is another Jewish festival happening this time it is the festival of Succot, the holy days of Succot started Sunday evening and finishes on Tuesday evening, till the following week when it all starts again. Succot (Feast of Tabernacles) is one of the three biblically based pilgrimage holidays known as the shalosh regalim. It is an agricultural festival that originally was considered a thanksgiving for the fruit harvest. Succot are hut-like structures that the Jews lived in during the 40 years of travel through the wilderness after the exodus from Egypt. As a temporary dwelling, the succah also represents the fact that all existence is fragile, and therefore Succot is a time to appreciate the shelter of our homes. So if you are celebrating Succot may I wish you a chag sameach (happy festival, English translation from Hebrew)

Such unimaginable sadness in North East Thailand, it breaks my heart even to write about it, how broadcasters and news journalist can report on such tragedies must take either immense strength of character or a total detachment on what they are reporting, I am of course referring to the despicable act of murder perpetrated by a former Thai police officer who stormed a children’s classroom, the news is known, it does not need me to retell the story. In fact, to be honest I simply cannot write the words that tells the story of what happened.

Closer to home more tragedy, but not seemingly man made just a tragic accident in Creeslough County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland after a petrol station explosion killed 10 people from the local area on Friday after noon. Life is so fragile, live every moment as joyfully as you can. God gave us a gift of not knowing when life will end, sometimes that seems unfair.

Liz Truss is still the Prime Minister and so she should be the “wets” as Margaret Thatcher used to call them need to put up and shut up, let Liz and her team do their job, meanwhile the Conservative Party are winning the next General Election for the Labour Party although as I have said before a week is a long time in politics.

Congratulations to Max Verstappen, he clinched a second world champion title after dominating the Japanese Grand Prix

More congratulations this time to Wales they beat Scotland 18-15 in the Women’s Rugby World Cup and again in the Rugby World Cup England beat Fiji 84-19 with a run-in record of 14 tries. Is women’s rugby more exciting than the men’s game? hummm answers on a postcard to the usual address please.

That’s it, you are up to date from a David point of view wishing you an awesome week ahead at the coalface of the conference and incentive industry.

MM and Company news update

One of my favourite things I say about MM and Company’s amazing DMCs that we represent is:-

MM and Company represent, recommend and successfully work with many DMCs throughout the world that do the same job in many different ways and that is true when it comes to trade shows and exhibitions, some DMCs attend most of them, some attend none of them. Some DMCs fervently believe in them, some think they simply do not deliver.
