A very good Monday morning I hope you are well and that you had a great weekend free from floods and viruses

It’s a busy old month February, last week it was Valentine’s Day, this week Pancake day yeahhhh. Although pancakes seem to be Hannah’s favourite thing to cook so every week is pancake week in our house.

Not sure if it’s got anything to do with half term but it seems to be a very quiet news week last week except of course for that horrendous attack by a deranged right wing nutter in a town called Hanau then the attacked in Regents Park Mosque. It’s what I say to clients when they ask me, 'is going to xyz destination safe?' My response is always, everywhere is safe and nowhere is safe, but you have to be bang out of luck to get caught up in anything. Crossing London or Westminster bridge you stop for a coffee and miss the attack or you stop for a coffee and get caught up in it.

It’s the same with this virus every year worldwide some 56,000 people die from the flu or flu like illnesses, so whilst the Coronavirus is disconcerting and challenging especially for very young and very old people it’s just part of life’s rich pattern and if you want to be a hundred per cent protected for your whole life, live in total isolation in a padded room, no hot drinks or food you might burn yourself, you get my drift.

Malta and Mauritius

Sales calls season is about to begin Claudia Cassar, Director of Mi Malta DMC is coming over to meet up with past, present and future conference and incentive clients during the last week of March, coinciding with a visit from Stephane Louise, Operations Manager of Connections DMC Mauritius. So we have combined the two visits for a number of reasons, both destinations begin with M and we are after all MM and Company, both destinations are amazing islands and fortunately don’t compete with each other, it also make perfect sense from a presentation perspective and good use of time for our clients.

France and Turkey

The team and I at MM and Company are looking forward to April when Pascal Roulland of Nacara DMC France and Muge Altug of Blue DMC Turkey are going to visit the UK to meet with past, present and future clients. It’s always great when our DMCs come to visit us and their clients , there’s always lots going on in Paris especially and Istanbul, Bodrum and Antalya. Both Pascal and Muge will have an update on their respective destinations. Whenever we announce that senior management of DMCs that MM and Company represent are coming to the UK, we get a huge amount of interest, please let me know as soon as possible if you would like an update on Paris and Istanbul, two amazing cities.

GREECE

Nassos Stephenson the Business Development Manager of AME DMC Greece has told me that Athens has a brand new Hyatt hotel, it’s like all Hyatt hotels, an outstanding product. It’s located in the cultural centre of the awesome city of Athens. It’s really established itself as one of the top hotels in Athens, it’s only 2km from the Acropolis.

And that’s it you are totally up to date, wishing you a great week at work, I wonder what this week will bring with the Corona Virus gaining traction in Italy and several other countries our event, conference and incentive industry is now entering uncharted territory, I wonder how long it will be till borders start to be closed. And there is nothing at all we can do about it.
