DATELINE MONDAY 29TH OCTOBER 2018

Two weeks ago we had a sparkling weekend dry, sunny, warm with a temperature of 23 degrees. This weekend was dry a bit sunny but so much colder, autumn and winter have both arrived at the same time, readers of my Monday morning blog will know that this time of year is not one I enjoy in a previous life I was a cactus in the Arizona Desert but hey, there is not much I can do about it except bitch and moan which I will be doing for the next four months, although having said that today looks like a crisp Aline day in London.

So sad for the City of Leicester, they have clearly lost one of their own adopted sons, from the news reports he seemed like a really nice, genuine guy, there are not enough of them around these days. It is said that only the good die young that is clearly the case for the Chairman of Leicester Football Club.

And now this appalling tragedy at The Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh. How is it that a man can have so much hate in his heart that he takes a gun and shoots dead 11 innocent men and women at prayer on a Shabbat morning, not to mention the many, many more he has wounded leaving them with life changing injuries, it beggars belief.

World Travel Market (WTM) 5th - 7th November Are you going this year? I won't be going as I will be with Erika of Mi Malta DMC that week running around the country meeting some of our awesome clients. If you need anything in a hurry, please let us know, otherwise they will be back in the office on Monday 5th November. Japan James and the team at The J Team have been inundated with groups and site inspections for the Rugby World Cup next year and for the Olympics in 2020. If you need any assistance with these groups, do let us know.

Canada We work on an adhoc basis with JPdL Destination Management, they have operated a number of groups for us when clients have asked us to recommend a DMC in Canada. On my bucket list is to attend the Calgary Stampede, it's happening 5th - 14th July next year, the stampede is know as " the greatest outdoor show on earth". At IMEX I met Jennifer Ginsberg, the Director of Sales for JPdL Destination Management, we talked about the stampede, JPdL Destination Management has got first options for VIP space at the Calgary ideal for 40 people. If you want more information, please let me know. To give you an idea of cost, a four to five night program on the ground excluding accommodation for 37 people works out at approximately £2,500 per person, it ain't cheap, but for a unique, once in a life time event, in my opinion worth it. I want to go.
