DATELINE MONDAY 10TH JULY 2017

On Wednesday my life was near to perfect as it will ever be, the team and I at MM and company got new requests for SNTTA Emir Incentives & Conferences in Dubai, Honeywell Incentives in Cyprus and Visit Morocco DMC. Also on Wednesday, we had two groups in Budapest, one in Spain (a biggee) and an event in Iceland had just got home. No dramas at home, no dramas at work, the sun was shining, I don’t think it gets any better than that, a super perfect day would be a big lottery win, no point in having a little lottery win.

Iceland Kristen, Linda and the team at Nordic Visitor have told us Monday 7th August is a Bank Holiday, I love it when our DMCs are ahead of the curve, for sure Nordic Visitor are ahead of the curve. It’s Commerce Day in Iceland, this holiday was started in 1894, it was started to give commercial workers a day off in the summer long before paid holidays existed.

Leyla and Hannah’s twitter and witter bit of the Monday morning e mail

Leyla has been away for the last three weeks, it’s been a funny old time at home without her, she is back home Monday evening and I expect that life will return to normal in Swiss Cottage. It certainly will be interesting to see what the dynamics are in the house once she is back.

Hannah’s school sport day, she dragged me to Oscar’s Den, the local fancy dress shop to buy blue face paint, the colour of her school house. She went to school on Wednesday in full PE kit which involved wearing a shork. This is a pair of shorts with a skirt arrangement around it and she had painted her face with blue strips, bit like Big Chief Bald Eagle or Hiawatha in the old western movies, or Adam of Adam and the Ants. Hannah had a great sports day at school, she was a popular girl due to having the blue face paint, all of her team got war paint stripes and as my daughter is a “waste not want not” girl and there was face pain left over, she decided to use it all up covering her arms and her legs with face pain. She got back from school looking like a Smurf.
