DATELINE MONDAY 3RD JULY 2017

Summery sunshine Monday morning greetings from the sun-drenched streets of London W10 , I hope you’re well.

Yum! what a lovely weekend of weather we had, hopefully it will last this week when the UK weather collapsed. Every morning last week I wore a cotton sweater and on Wednesday I actually put on a bomber jacket, not something that I wanted to do but that summer the UK.

I am happy to report that June was a really busy month at MM and Company, I am expecting the same for July and August as the clients of our lovely conference and incentive agency clients start getting busy because they want to do a conference in September and October, so then they send us their client’s requirements.

USA Clementine of C Florida Hospitality and Beth of Details NYC will of course be celebrating Independence Day on 4th July so there offices will be closed, if you need anything do let us know.

Slovakia Marek and Maros of Enjoy Slovakia have told us that it’s a Bank Holiday on Wednesday 5th July held in Slovakia and I have as I always do goggled it, it’s St Cyril & Methodius Day. July 5 is the Day of Slavic Missionaries Cyril and Methodius The two Byzantine Greek brothers Cyril and Methodius are very important for Czech history. They brought Christianity to the Great Moravian Empire in the year 863 and created the liturgical Slavonic language and alphabet called hlaholice (the Glagolitic alphabet). They translated the Bible and contributed to the spread of Christianity and the Old Slavonic Language (staroslověnština) throughout Great Moravia.

Prague Daniel Kalina and the team at ITC Prague have told us exactly the same thing, both countries that used to be joined called Czechoslovakia are now Czech Republic and Slovakia but they both retain the celebration on the same day.

It goes without saying that our MM and Company offices are open all week, so if you need anything from the Bank Holiday destination please let us know we are always able to get hold of our DMCs.

Leyla and Hannah’s twitter and witter bit of the Monday morning e mail

Leyla is having an amazing time in Israel, she has yet to learn that Israel is two hours ahead of the UK, I have only had the one call at 5.30 in the morning, the rest of them have been around 7 or 8 o’clock in the evening which works. She has been up to the Golan Heights and overlooked the border between Israel and Syria, she has swum in Lake Salihee and one morning they woke up at 3.45 to climb to the top of the mountain to watch the sun rise. They also enjoyed kayaking in the river Jordan seems like she is having a great trip. I hope she will remember this trip when the pressure builds for her GCSE’s, you can be sure I will be reminding her of it. I have got a third job a night shift stacking shelves at Tesco to pay for it.

Hannah is growing up way too fast, last week was the first week she has not wanted me to come up and say goodnight to her, to sing her a song which normally is ‘you are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey’. While I sing the song, I stroke her top lip while she sucks her thumb which sends her to sleep very quickly. She is definitely entering the teenage phase which starts in five months’ time, I’m going to miss her.
