DATELINE MONDAY 10TH APRIL 2017

Hooray, welcome to the start of your four day week this week and your four day next week at last Easter is just round the corner. The roads are quiet, the traffic is light, the kids are on half term, parking in London is easy, even The City of London was quiet last week when I was flying around bits of London with Gaia Terrazzi of +39 Italy. Gaia was over meeting some clients, spreading the word on how awesome and diverse the country of Italy truly is, we had a great few days expounding the virtues of Rome, Venice, Milan and Florence as well as Sicily and Sardinia.

OMG what an amazing weekend of weather we have just had 24 degrees C wall to wall sunshine, not a cloud in the sky it was actually shorts weather my legs got their first sairing of the year. Sadly it won’t last, this week the weather will be not great and the temperature will be half of what we have just enjoyed, well after all Bank Holiday is on its way so the weather has to be rubbish, it’s the law.

Did you watch The Grand National? it’s the only horse race I ever have a flutter on. Once I put a bet on a reverse dual forecast, my stake was £10 I won £168 but this year I forgot to even look at the names of the horses as that is the only way I choose what horse to bet on. Had I remembered I would have bet on the horse called One For Arthur at 14-1 why that horse? well my Grandfather’s name was Arthur and he would not have approved of me putting on the bet even more reason to choose that horse. Guess what it won!

Before I finish my bit of the Monday Morning email, may I take this opportunity to wish those of you that celebrate the festival of Passover a wonderful and Kasher Pesach. For those of you who do not consume unleavened bread for eight days in April, may I take this opportunity to wish you, your family and friends a wonderful Easter, if you are reading this and neither of those two apply, I hope you have a great few days off over spring bank holiday. As next Monday will be bank holiday also known as Easter Monday, there will be no Monday Morning email.

Slovakia Marek at Enjoy Slovakia DMC will be over in the UK at the end of April, he is a great guy running a terrific DMC, I would love to introduce you to him. Please let me or Katharine know should you wish to have a full update on Slovakia this very new and unfamiliar to many destination, a great destination that fits the bill when your clients ask for new, different destination with quality hotels and venues.

Mauritius Anusha and the team at Connections DMC tell us that British Airways are increasing Gatwick-Mauritius flights, British Airways is raising capacity to Mauritius with additional departures from Gatwick. The airline has scheduled two addition services a week for next winter to bring the total up to five. Flights will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The extra flights have been confirmed for the winter season from October 29th 2017 until March 21st 2018

Leyla and Hannah’s twitter and witter bit of the Monday morning e mail

Hannah is a happy girl again, she has spent some of her Bat Mitzvah money on an almost new iPhone6 from Ebay, she was unconnected for about ten days due to the fact that she wrecked her phone. In this day and age not being connected is similar to having dropped off the face of the earth.

I gave Leyla one of the new shiny twelve sided £1 coins that I got in change last week. I was actually quite excited about seeing the new coin. Naively (well I am a Dad) I reserved one of the new £1 coins for Leyla and one for Hannah. I gave the £1 coin to Leyla, her response was extremely lukewarm “whatever” was one of the words I think she said. Disappointed that there was only one and not twenty of them, she would have been well impressed if that was the case. Hannah was quite impressed but only for a millisecond. My thoughts were “I give up” but of course I don’t.
