DATELINE MONDAY 27TH MARCH 2017

Good Morning, happy Monday, generally in fact almost all the time I like Monday, I’m even more delighted about this Monday, it’s light and sunny and dry and hope springs eternal. I hope you had a good weekend and that you are ready for the week ahead, I certainly am. It’s that time of year again where the clocks have just sprung forward an hour to welcome in Spring and I’m so happy to see the back of the winter. April will be here on Saturday then May, then June, my time of year.

I had a terrific week last week with Filipe de Pina of TA DMC Portugal, we saw lots of my favourite people, drove about 900 miles maybe more, we went down to Brighton, up to Leicester then on to Derby around Oxford and back again.

I feel I must make mention of the tragic events that occurred on Westminster Bridge and outside the Houses of Parliament, many people have had their lives changed forever and sadly a number had had their lives ended. It’s fair to say that in this day and age nowhere is truly safe but it’s also true to say, one has to be extremely unlucky to be caught up in a tragedy such as the one that was visited on London last week.

Cyprus Klea and the team at Honeywell Incentives DMC have told us about the re-opening of The Elysium Hotel in Paphos, following many months of extensive renovations to rooms, suites, restaurants and bars The Elysium Hotel in Paphos opened their doors again on 23rd March. If you need more info on this hotel or any other hotel in Cyprus please let us or Klea of Honeywell Incentives DMC know. Cyprus is such a terrific destination that goes in and out of fashion we are seeing Cyprus coming back once again.

Italy Gaia Terrazzi of +39 Italy is coming over for a few days at the beginning of April now the weather is getting better Gaia is looking forward to meeting up with some clients. If you have time to meet with Gaia please let me know, she’s only here for a few days.

Slovakia Marek at Enjoy Slovakia DMC will be over in the UK at the end of April, he is a great guy and I would love to introduce you to him. Please let me or Katharine know should you wish to have a full update on Slovakia this very new and unfamiliar to many destination, a great destination that fits the bill when your clients ask for new, different destination with quality hotels and venues.

Leyla and Hannah’s twitter and witter bit of the Monday morning e mail

Leyla has a very logical mind, she is great a Sudoku and puzzles. On Sunday she went to a friend’s birthday party which was held at an escape room location her verdict was that escape was impossible, they had to get a few clues and after an hour they were still caught in the room but she had a great time she found it very challenging but great fun.

Now that Hannah has turned 12 years old she is well into Bat Mitzvah seasons, all her friends are turning 12 years old and are celebrating their own Bat Mitzvah, Hannah’s was in December last year. Hannah was at a Bat Mitzvah party last weekend the highlight according to Hannah was the venue’s fire alarm was triggered by the kitchen staff overuse of a barbeque grill, according to elf and safety everyone had to evacuate the building, the fire brigade was automatically called to check all was OK. Hannah’s favourite photos of the event was her and her mate in front of the Fire Engine giving it the thumbs up. Last night she came home from another Bat Mitzvah party held at a popular Kensington rooftop venue with as she exclaimed “real flamingos” as she rolled around the lounge floor telling me she has the most “awesome hangover ever” apparently she had sneaked a taste of one of the cocktails on offer. It is something that all the kids, to regardless of the strict policing of alcohol at these types of events, always manage to nick a cocktail or two.
