Happy Monday Morning greetings from London W10, I hope you’re well.
Ta ta Sunny September when we saw the hottest day of the summer 34 degrees F, hello October, it is possible that there are only three months left to 2016? OMG! Looks like it will be quite a nice sunny dry week this week.
The beginning of the week is the start of the High Holy festivals for people that practise the Jewish faith, one of those people happens to be me, if that also happens to be you may I take this opportunity to wish you, your family and friends Chag Sameach, a very happy, healthy and sweet New Year. If that doesn’t apply to you then please disregard what you have just read and I will be sending you Happy New Year greetings far too soon for my liking.
Did you watch the Clinton – Trump debate? I did well, certainly the highlights and there is no doubt about it Hilary Clinton was way ahead of Donald, she had gravitas, Statesmanship, she also looked the part. Donald on the other hand was a disaster. As we say we live in interesting times. So sad that Shimon Peres, Prime Minister and ex President of Israel has passed away, now he was a statesman personified, he was 93, he had a full and good innings, he deserves a rest.

Greece
Nassos of AME Group Greece who we have been representing since 2000 has told us that the Athenaeum InterContinental in Athens has received the world travel award in 2016 as the leading conference hotel in Greece. Whilst I didn’t attend a conference I did stay at the InterContinenal in Athens only a few weeks ago, it’s an excellent hotel with very comprehensive conference and event facilities as well as an excellent standard of accommodation food and beverage.

Shaun and Brad, of The Inside Edge South Africa are very much involved in the Bloodhound world speed record attempt due to take place next year in 2017 on the Hakskeen Pan northern cape in South Africa. The car that will attempt the world land speed record is called the Nammo rocket. The car will be tested on a runway in the UK before the world record attempt in South Africa. Brad and Shaun have all the latest information, they have secured quality accommodation near the Hakskeen Pan, this definitely has to be the incentive event of the year in 2017.
Panama
Hocine, Arno and Nathalie of Quetzal Motivo Central America have told us of the soon to be opening 130 room boutique hotel opening in Panama Casco Viejo. I saw it under construction, it opens in December in what is amazing location, it is in the old 1920s city of Panama very close, in fact within walking distance to the modern, high rise city of Panama.
Costa Rica
Hot on the success of the British Airways direct flight to Costa Rica from London, Air France will be launching direct flights from Paris to San Jose Costa Rica in November, there will be two flights per week. If you need more info please contact Hocine, Arno and Nathalie at Quetzal Motivo.
Leyla and Hannah’s twitter and witter bit of the Monday morning e mail
Last week I bought home one of the new plastic £5 notes to show the girls, they were quite difficult to get hold off but I managed to get two of them. Both Hannah and Leyla were very excited to see the new note, Hannah notice the hologram type printing and Big Ben. She also wanted to know who Winston Churchill was. Leyla took hold of the £5 note and said, come on Daddy let’s destroy it. As she had seen reports in the newspaper that I had shown her to say that the new £5 was indestructible.
It was a busy week last week, Anusha of Connections DMC Mauritius and I entertained some clients at the Shard, it was a late night and I was in the advanced state of over refreshment, far too much excellent red wine. Hannah came in at 6.45AM to say goodbye before she went to school, she said something to me, I had no idea what she said (see the previous sentence) I directed her to the top draw of my walk in wardrobe and told her to take some money, she kissed me goodbye and left. That afternoon on her return from school she said to me, I only came in to say goodbye, I actually didn’t need any money, I thought to myself, that’s a first.
