DATELINE MONDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER 2016

Happy Monday morning, September greetings, welcome back, I hope you had a terrific summer and your sun tanned and healthy glow still remains, my Greek suntan is fading fast. However I am happy to report that my Vitamin D stock courtesy of the Greek sunshine has been well replenished.

The weather was pretty good last week, looking at the weather for this week it’s not looking too shabby either, a dodgy start to Monday yeah its raining but still warm and getting warmer and sunnier throughout the week. I know September’s here, apart from the fact that my smart phone has told me, the green sacks full of leaves are appearing on the pavement in leafy downtown W10 and NW6 and far too soon it won’t be leafy anymore, but let’s worry about that in six weeks’ time.

Travel starts this week, I am off to Budapest for a couple of days to meet with Agnes, Dori, Linda and the team at Microcosmos the DMC in Budapest that we have represented since last century,1999 to be exact. It has been a few years since I was there last and there is a lot of new hotels and venues to see.

I have just booked my flight to Las Vegas for IMEX USA. Will you be going to IMEX Las Vegas? it happens next month. I am going to Vegas via New York to meet up with Beth Lockwood of Details NYC the DMC we represent in, yes you guessed it New York.

Slovakia

It is with great pleasure that I write to tell you that MM and Company has started representing Marek, Maros and the team at Enjoy Slovakia. I have known and worked with Marek and Maros for a number of years and we are delighted to at last, be able to pro-actively market, sell and promote Bratislava and Enjoy Slovakia DMC. I went to Bratislava a few years ago, it’s a great city, I plan to go again and will send you a full update on my return. Kind of spooky that the week MM and Company starts representing Slovakia England play Slovakia is the World Cup qualifiers, OK so Marek and Maros don’t want to be reminded of the result, so I won’t mention that England won one nil.

Mauritius

Anusha Soopal of Connections DMC Mauritius is planning her return, she will be back in September and we are already putting her schedule together. If you would like to meet up with Anusha in September please let us know, she will have a full update on what’s new and funky in Mauritius.

The girls are back at school and I think the collective worlds parents breathe a sigh of relief, the summer holidays are over. I have to say that I really enjoyed spending full on time with the girls in Athens and Mykonos. The holiday had an interesting twist because of Hannah’s accident, luckily her leg plaster cast was removed two days before we flew Athens but her ankle was very stiff and her leg was very sore so we couldn’t do very much. Not that the girls wanted to do too much to be honest, so long as their phones were fully charged and WIFI was available the girls were happy, didn’t matter where we were. At one stage I said to the girls, come outside, come to the pool, the sun’s shining the water’s warm, you can play on your phones in London on a cold, wet day, why do that when the sun’s shining. As good as gold they joined me around the pool, towels were laid on the sun beds, they got comfortable around the pool, each of them stuck a towel over their heads to block out the sun and yes they continued playing on their phones. When it got too hot, they did go for a swim and then got straight back on their phone. When I finally pop my mortal coil, the first person I will be seeking out is Steve Jobs, I want a word with him.
