Dateline Monday 9th February 2026

Good Monday morning I hope all is well with you and yours

OMG what a few weeks of weather we have had rain, rain cold, cold more rain more cold except last Wednesday morning but only in the morning it was bright, sunny, dry a bit warmer and almost a Spring morning then the weather turned back to cold, grey, rain and overcast I said last week we have to “get through” February and more rain this week, we still have three weeks of it left

However lucky for me I am attending the SITE Global Conference in Abu Dhabi to support the TRAVCO DMC Team I have three days in Abu Dhabi then three days in Dubai on a site inspection with the TRAVCO DMC team I have lots to catch up on with the team, they have just confirmed operational DMC partnerships in Qatar and Saudi. As a result of my very convenient trip to the nice and toasty warm UAE Dubai and Abu Dhabi to be specific there will not be a Monday morning e mail next week, naturally I will be responding to e mail and so will Sandra be doing the same thing I always have my mobile with me so regardless of what time it is in the UAE I will always answer your call.    

Today Monday 9^th February is World Pizza Day OK who decided it was World Pizza Day today? It is very tempting for me to announce that such and such day is World M&Ms Day well why not, here is a thought what World Day shall we invent World Ice Cream Day, World let’s not go into work today Day, Here is one World Hug a forlorn Prime Minister Day because goodness know poor old Kir needs a hug

The Guthrie family in the USA must be going through hell, Savannah’s Mum has allegedly been kidnapped why because she is the Mum of a famous TV anchor and celebrity, but why Savannah’s Mum? Why not Taylor Swift’s Mum, Taylor is much more famous and much richer, this story has some mileage to run.

Oh dear, look what a mess Sir Never Here Kir Stamer Prime Minister but not for long is in this time, involved with Tony Blair’s best mate Peter Mandleson. Mandelson was always thought of as the Lord of the Dark Arts and so it has proved to be the case.

We have heard from Starmer and Brown but who haven’t we heard from the main Mandelson groupie Tony Blaire where is the Ex PM he is too busy making money and getting involved with things he should leave alone like the Board of Peace which in my opinion is the Bored of Bogusness spelling is correct, Raymond. 😊 

Latest casualty is the PM’s Chief of Staff Morgan McSweeny he is toast, resigned to save Sir Kir well lets see what this week brings.  

That mad bloke Prick Putin has been bombing civilian infrastructure again, does he think that depriving innocent Ukrainian citizens of heat, light and water in freezing winter temperatures of minus 20 degrees C will endear them to Russia he is a total savage, sadistic nutter that needs to be terminated.  Seems like Russian Generals are being targeted, shot at, severely wounded, some have been terminated I suppose that’s a start.

Congratulations to Japan’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on her "landmark victory" in the elections to the House of Representatives she is clearly a popular Prime Minister

Congratulations to Italy the opening ceremony in Milan and Cortina were a success

Congratulations to Switzerland winning the first three gold medals well I guess they have an advantage, it snows in Switzerland 

Congratulations to Arsenal and Manchester City who will play in the 2025/26 Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium on 22^nd March 2026.

And finally, may I be the very first to wish you a very happy, happy Valentine’s Day for this Saturday
