Good morning, happy Monday, the last one of September, not long till Halloween ☹
After the sad 11 days of mourning for Her Majesty The Queen the News is back to normal, doom and gloom, rail strikes, mad weather in parts of the World, energy cost and war.
Our new Prime Minister Liz Truss is on the ropes (why would anyone want a job that ultimately end in failure however good she is and whatever good she does). So we have had a “fiscal announcement” by the new Chancellor of the Exchequer, tax cuts and energy price caps, lots of new faces on the Front Bench. Delighted to see Jacob Rees Mogg is still on the Front Bench he is great value, I love the fact the journos call him “Minister for the 19th Century” a perfect job title although when he is interviewed he tends to talk a lot of sense.
Labour is holding their annual conference, this time in Liverpool, lots of announcements but seemly pointless as they are not in power. Talking of power Italy has been holding a General Election which seemly may usher in a far right government, not a good trend, let’s hope it doesn’t happen.
Hurricane Fiona has made land fall in Canada slamming into Nova Scotia’s coastline on Saturday, leaving much of Nova Scotia and nearly all of Prince Edward Island without power.
Super Typhoon smashes into the Philippines causes huge damage. I have said it before and I will say it again we are lucky where we live here in the UK
The BBC Travel Show is back on the air another sign that travel related things are slowly returning to normal.
Finally today Monday and Tuesday is the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, in honour of this important Jewish Holiday I have reproduced a poem I first posted on linked in but felt as today in Rosh Hashanah I would share it again with you. This poem was first highlighted by Rabbi Yoni Golker’s wife Rebbetzin Dena Golker, Rabbi Yoni is our St John’s Wood Synagogue Community Rabbi. The author of the poem is unknow but it is a brilliant thought provoking poem, I hope you enjoy reading it
I asked for strength and God gave me difficulties to make me strong I asked for wisdom and God gave me problems to solve I asked for prosperity and God gave me brawn and brain to work I asked for courage and God gave me dangers to overcome
May I take this opportunity to warmly wish you, if this applies to you a very happy, healthy, prosperous and sweet New Year if that doesn’t apply to you I wish you an awesome week ahead with New Year wishes coming to a screen near you late December 😊

Japan
James Kent Operations Director of The J Team DMC Japan has told us that Japan will remove its cap on daily arrivals on 11th October as part of its easing of COVID-19 border control on the same day Japan will also resume visa-free trips to the country In 2019, prior to the outbreak of the global pandemic, a record 31.9 million tourists visited Japan, with over 2 million visitors a month. The estimated monthly figure for August this year was 169,800, according to the Japan National Tourism Organization. Yikkkeeesssss !!

One of my favourite things I say about MM and Company’s amazing DMCs that we represent is:-
MM and Company represent, recommend and successfully work with many DMCs throughout the world that do the same job in many different ways and that is true when it comes to trade shows and exhibitions, some DMCs attend most of them, some attend none of them. Some DMCs fervently believe in them, some think they simply do not deliver.
