Dateline Monday 13th March 2023

Happy Monday morning, welcome to yet another week of work I hope all is well with you.

What was it with the weather last week? Cold, very cold and snow even in London. OK up in Scotland they are used to snow in March. Having lived and worked in Aberdeen during my hotel career before MM and Company we got used to snow in Spring, but here in a Capital snow in March WTF. Thankfully, it has warmed up a at last and we think it’s all over, well according to the Weather just read out on the BBC they don’t think it is all over. Just looked out of my office window, it’s a bit blowy outside, clearly it is a hang on to your hat day if you decide to venture outside, I say that because so many people seem not to venture outside these days as the working from home epidemic is the new normal, there’s that phrase again, plus Amazon deliver, so do most of the supermarket and restaurants, there is no need to go outside.

MM and Company news update

Greece

Nassos and the team at AME DMC Greece has told us that Domes Resorts has announced its newest opening, Domes Noruz Kassandra, the brand’s first hotel in Halkidiki northern Greece. The Greek Hotel brand has properties in Corfu, Crete, Zakynthos, with their hotel in Milos set to open in April 2023, Domes Noruz Kassandra is located in the Kassandra peninsula.

Nassos tells me that this hotel is really a ‘beach club with rooms’, the hotel has 182 rooms and suites and a sprawling swimming pool just steps away from the golden beach, where one can find the beach club and bar. Further new openings are planned Mykonos, Santorini and the Athenian Riviera

Talking of Greece, British Airways is adding the Greek islands of Corfu (three per week) and Mykonos (weekly), to its short-haul routes from London Gatwick through its BA Euroflyer subsidiary.
