Dateline 23rd September 2024
Good morning, Happy Monday morning today is the second day of Autum, I hope you are well and that you had amazing summer, I certainly made the most of what the met office will no doubt say was the hottest summer on record and what I would say was that it was just “och and vey” (a favourite phrase my lovely Mum used to use) summer took a long time to get going and then it ended somewhat abruptly. Our conference and incentive industry is back to normal well the new normal whatever that maybe.
The new conference and incentive season is off to a flying start we have been busy with groups going to Germany, France, Vienna, Malta, Budapest to name just a few yes Europe has and is busy, all these events operated just last week, mid and long haul is, to be honest a bit sluggish but it picks up in October.
So much has happened over the past six weeks since the Monday morning e mail has been in recess, if I mentioned all that has happened on this Monday e mail it would be as long as War and Peace, so I have decided to stick to the current crop of news challenges, starting with the new Government which is in “conference” today with our new leader up to his eyes and sparkling new glasses he did not pay for mired in scandal, well that didn’t take very long did it? The scandal of grabbing whatever is on offer includes Angie his deputy and Robbing Rachel who is about to nick the pensioner’s winter fuel allowance. Oh dear, I wonder what the Unions are going to do in Liverpool this week.
It’s soap box time
Today is the 349th day of the war in Gaza and the 349th day that Israeli babies, toddles, children, teens, women, men and seniors have been held hostage in the Hamas terror tunnels in Gaza.
It seems that still the leaders of Nations do not understand that war doesn’t work, it only makes the armaments industry people richer than they are already and the local civilians poorer and more traumatised than they are already. It’s all kicked off good and proper in the North of Israel against Hezbollah, Gaza continues although the spotlight is off Gaza and now on Lebanon.
Ukraine kicked Russia’s a*se with a counter offensive and captured some 300 kilometres Russian territory. And what are the United Nations doing about all of this sitting in their debating chamber chatting that at least what it looks like to me.
Oh and one more thing in War The Red Cross take an active part in making sure prisoners are looked after I understand that The Red Cross has not had access to the hostages in Gaza’s terror tunnels. Prior to October 7th Israel granted The Red Cross access to Palestinian detainees.
Off the soap box now
Only in America it seems if you don’t like a politician then shoot at him, and yes Trump is still being shot at, regardless of whether you like him or not getting shot at should not be part of the job description.
That dear reader that is about it from a David point of view for this week at least.

One side of the aircraft features the playful antics of iconic Classic Animation characters such as the Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry, while the other side highlights the heroic adventures of beloved DC Superheroes. I just wonder what the pilots will be wearing Bugs Bunny and Sylvester the cat costumes. Interesting 😊
