Just in case you plan to be going to your local Chinese restaurant any time soon Gong hei fat choy” is the most common Chinese New Year greeting in Cantonese, which is spoken in parts of southern China and Hong Kong. It directly translates to “wishing you great happiness and prosperity.” In Mandarin, the same greeting is “gong xi fa cai” (pronounced gong she fa tsai)

I hope you are well and that you had a great weekend its good news week, this is the week that sees January out which means it’s the end of the month and we get paid. Sadly the salary gets sent off to Mastercard, Visa and American Express to pay off for the excesses of Christmas, hey there is always February and that is a shortish month

Today is a very sad day, for some 75 years ago it was a very happy day, it is also a very important day, today is Holocaust memorial day, marking the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau as well as many other concentration camps and death camps and the end of the Second World War with liberation across Europe – a watershed historical moment. Last Thursday Prince Charles joined Israel's President Reuven Rivlin together with US Vice President Mike Pence, Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Emmanuel Macron, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and around 40 world leaders at Yad Vashem Israel’s Holocaust memorial centre to remember the millions who lost their life in the many Nazi concentration camps.

This is also the week that finally BREXIT will happen well at least the start of the BREXIT process will be under way. Exciting times ahead.
