DATELINE MONDAY 2ND OCTOBER 2017
Happy October, happy Monday from London W10, I hope you're well and that you had a great weekend. My weekend was an interesting one, Saturday it was the holiest day of the Jewish calendar Yom Kippur. It was a fast day, so no eating or drinking, smoking or any other pleasures from Friday at 6.30pm till Saturday 7.30pm, this is going to sound bizarre but bizarre is something that I wear quite well, I really enjoyed the day.
So last week I had a quick visit to Austria and Germany, where we have amazing DMCs, Germanyinsight in, yes, you guessed it Germany and e+o meeting, event and travel management GmbH in Austria. I went to Stuttgart, never been there before, we are getting quite a few conference requests for Stuttgart so I went to find out what all the fuss was about. I also went to Salzburg where I absolutely believe we should be getting a lot more requests it is an amazing city famous of course for Mozart, hot chocolate and a lot more. Whenever I have the opportunity to promote and suggest Austria I talk about Vienna and Salzburg but it seems Vienna is always the one that goes to the Ball, occasionally Innsbruck pops up either for a huge conference or for access to Austria's ski slopes.

Leyla and Hannah's twitter and witter bit of the Monday morning e mail
Hannah had a very important job to do at school because she is now in year seven, her second year at secondary school, her class was selected to provide hosts for the prospective pupils and parents evening at the school last week. Hannah and her class mates were tasked to show prospective parent and pupils around the school, Hannah was totally full of it, she is such a sociable child, I wish I had been a fly on the wall I'm sure she did an amazing job of welcoming people to the school.
Leyla's access to pocket money is via a Go Henry card which is topped up with money every week, it's basically a prepaid credit card, she has lost her card and has no access to funds. Do you think she is the slightest bit bothered about it, worried about it or desperate for a replacement card, not at all. If that was Hannah she would be camped outside the Go Henry office waiting for it to open to get her replacement card. Last week, Leyla minus her Go Henry top p card wanted to go to Pizza Express with a friend on Sunday afternoon, she asked if she could go "sure" was my answer. Half an hour later she said "Dad I have a problem I don't have my Go Henry card and I don't have any money" "oh that's a shame baby girl" was my reply "then I guess you can't go" Leyla was then set about negotiating a way to get access to the funds. In the end I gave her £15.00 to be deducted from next week's pocket money and I made it crystal clear that she needs to be responsible for her Go Henry card this is the last time I give her money I don't think she believes that and to be honest I don't believe it either.
Well that's it you are up to date I hope you have an amazing week.
