The Destination

Bucharest is laden with historical charm; from the streets of the Old City Centre, which are slowly being restored, to the grand architecture of the Royal Palace and the lush green of Herastrau Park.  A complete image can’t be achieved without visiting the city’s highlights, such as the Romanian Athenaeum, the Revolution Square, the Arch of Triumph, Victoria Ave, the Military Academy and of course, The Palace of Parliament.   Known for its wide, tree-lined boulevards, glorious Belle Époque buildings and a reputation for the high life, Bucharest, a city once known as the “Paris of Eastern Europe” is today experiencing renewed vigour.  Remodelled in the late 19th century by French and French-trained architects, the city features large neoclassical buildings, fashionable parks, and even its very own Arch of Triumph.

Nature has been generous with the land of Romania, characterized by variety, proportion and harmony. The Carpathians cover over 31% of Romania, and their valleys are filled with winter sport resorts. Many of these resorts are next to the ski slopes and cable all the additional services such as renting centres, skiing lessons, shops. The top ski resorts include Sinaia, Predeal, Poiana Brasov and Azuga.

Bucharest currently offers over 2.000 rooms in 5* hotels, 4.500 in 4* hotels and 2.300 rooms in 3* hotels.

Main international hotel chains are already present in Romania (including brands such as Marriott, Hilton, Intercontinental, Radisson, Accor Chain, Ramada) with more coming up all the time.

The most impressive venues continue to be The Palace of Parliament, The Athenaeum, The Royal Palace and the Palace Hall.
